How well do you know the conservation club that you are supporting? Co-Chair Eric Hausker will give a review of the Sierra Club's history starting with its founding in 1892 by John Muir, as a hiking club with 182 members with a view to protecting Yosemite National Park, all the way into its 2nd century as one of the major players in the fight to preserve the biosphere of the entire planet. Its major triumphs and setbacks will be mentioned in detail. The club has had controversies and inner conflicts, as will be seen, but it is still the preeminent organization fighting the nation's looming environmental crisis.
