**Hike Big Basin State Park--Berry Creek Falls

Date: Wednesday, June 4, 2014
Time: 10:00 AM
Presented by: Loma Prieta San Mateo Hiking
Leader: Jane Paulson - 650-323-6849 jmpaulson98@comcast.net
Level: Strenuous (2B)
Location: Big Basin State Park parking lot

Carpool 8:45am at Old Page Mill Road, ¼ mile east of I-280 just off Page Mill Road. The drive to Park HQ takes 1 ¼ hours from that location, so 8:30am might give more time. Meet in the parking lot. Parking costs $10, or $9 for seniors. There are restrooms at the start of the trail. We will hike Skyline-to-the-Sea trail to Berry Creek Falls and back. This is an 8 mile hike with 1,600 ft of elevation gain, mostly after lunch. The hike is in shade with lots of old growth trees and ferns. The falls still have considerable water coming over them. Bring lunch, plenty of water and poles if you use them. Leader Jane Paulson 650 323 6849 jmpaulson98@comcast.net (cell on day of hike) 650-380-6743
