Dr. Mira A. Franke recently completed a certificate in Energy Innovations and Emerging Technologies through Stanford University's Center for Professional Development. This course was the inspiration for her presentation. She is an adjunct professor in William Paterson University's physics department and Kean University's computer science department. She has developed and regularly teaches a WPU course entitled, "Global Energy Science and Technology". Her talk will cover some of the current science and technology of energy sources, particularly renewables, and how to reduce current and future energy use with smart grid technologies. It will also discuss the promise of various aspects of these topics.
